Banunule Edge Deaf School To Lift Game Stores Girls Tourney Title

In a very thrilling final for the first ever girls tournament at Kyadondo Rugby club Champions Banunule primary school edged new Tag Rugby entrants Ntinda school of the deaf to emerge winners of the Game stores event 2011.

Lifting the main cup Banunule's Winnie Nalugya was instrumental scoring three trys of the 6 against Ntinda Deaf's 3 trys as Kibuli Demonstration school showed Kiswa B primary exit to lift the plate final title.In the shield category Kiswa A white washed Kisugu church of Uganda 3-0 to bag the accolade while fired up Summit view kicked out East kololo primary school's second side to emerge bowl finalists.Banunule having fielded two teams A and B had knocked off challenge from competitive Kiswa,East Kololo,Naguru police,Nakulabye and Kibuli primary schools to settle for the main cup final.Whereas Ntinda school of the Deaf had punished Naguru infant,Summit view B,St.John,Kisugu A and Naguru lnfant A to dorminate pool B.The Uganda Rugby union Rugby manager Yayiro Kasasa who watched the tournament finals said"It is amazing to see how far the girls have taken this game.seeing for myself the competitive and interesting finals has proven the great work Tag Rugby is doing in nurturing future Uganda Rugby National team players.The Deaf schools outstanding performance has left me speecheless,this is very excellent” he added. The tournament that registered 240 participants and 38 teachers was sponsored by Game stores,Strategic Logistics Uganda Limited, Uganda Rugby union and Kyadondo Rugby club.
