USPA Pick Heathens for April Monthly Award

Kyadondo Rugby club's Heathens were yesterday 1st May voted USPA award winners for the month of April un opposed for bagging the National Nile Special Premier League title unbeaten.They won this title for keeps with a game to spare as they full filled their plan flogging both tough Kobs and Pirates 26-6 and 47-16 respectively in the final round of the Rugby League. Effort from the whole team saw them to success at the start of a new season for a title they hold for three consecutive years.


Others on the USPA commendation list included Kampala City Boxing team that won the three-day Inter-City boxing championship for the first time in five years emerging top after winning five gold medals, two silver and bronze medals respectively to beat Nairobi, Dar es Salam, Bujumbura and Mwanza,the Kobs who advanced to the second round of the All Africa Games qualifiers with a 5-2 aggregate win over Tanzania in the month of April.Kobs victory over Tanzania has kept their chances of qualifying for the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputoafter while live. Chess's Elijah Emojong for winning the East Africa Chess Championship in Kampala as he beat then defending champion Patrick Kawuma in his final and garnered 7.5 points ahead of Rajab Kamoga who came second with 7 points,Athletics Sarah Nambawa for setting two national records at the Boston-Moon Invitational Championship in USA.She became the first Ugandan to break the 14-metre record in triple jump and middle distance runner Annet Negesa who won the 800metres race in the Athletics Kenya championships in Kisii setting a record of (2:06.14).
